I have my new GB-PVR rig built, and I would like to be able to take my recordings/database/scheduled recordings with me from the old (current) machine to the new one.

On the new machine, I installed .NET 2.0, GB-PVR 97.13 (with the patch) as well as the Contour HC skin, comskip, BleepBloop and Weather. All I need to do is transfer my PVR150 (when the current pvr comes out of service) into the new machine.

Is it possible to take all the info with me? If not, its not a huge deal, but it would be nice. Is it simple as just copying the database? (SQL lite)

I am guessing that I should set my skin to "Blue" and not contour HC as well as removing the plug-ins for now too, right?

If the recordings are going to be in the same location, then yes, you'll just have to copy the database (gbpvr.db3).

sub,
I did the above and got my scheduled recordings to transfer over. BUT, when installing windows I made the user name (and therefore the profile) different than the old machine. Is there an "easy" way to fix the database (i.e. find and replace) or should I just relegate the old recordings to the video's folder?

I'd rather not change the name of the user account now, but if you think that will fix it, I'll give it a try.
Thanks again,
Jake

Do you still have your old machine handy? If so, you could export the recordings via the config app, search and replace the pathnames with your favorite text editor, and import them into the new machine.

I did this a while back when I rebuilt my server and it worked like a charm.

Yeah I do, the second 200 gig (Storage) drive that is in it, is out of the old box. Still has everything from the old box as I have not yet formatted it.

You say "search and replace the pathnames with your favorite text editor". Do I do this in the database or where? After I "export" the videos, where do I put them to "import" them?
Thanks Smile

When you export the data it goes into an XML document in the gbpvr root directory. It's called recording-dump.xml or something like that. Once you have edited the file, use the import button to suck them into the new system. The import and export buttons are on the same tab page.
