Ok, for my new HTPC, I went to hauppauge's website to get drivers for my dvb-t card (http://www.hauppauge.se/pages/support/sw...90002.html) and they have a link to a patch from Microsoft. It's called KB896626 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en)

Has anyone felt the need to use this patch? It's supposedly only for SP2 computers...

I never said it was new Wink But I haven't seen it before. On the other hand, I haven't had SP2 until now, either Smile

You need it for SP2, or you will see weird software crashes when watching TV or scanning for channels. There is also the stuttering and other issues described in KB896626 the documentation.

I have been using 3 x NovaT90002 cards on WinXP SP2 OK without the patch, on 2 different computers , with GBPVR and WinTV application without problem. The version 2.1 drivers are a must though if you have more than one card.

Maybe I'm just lucky Smile
