Anyone use VirtualDub to convert their recordings? Before my HD crashed, VD had no problem converting the recorded MP2 audio to MP3. Now I get the "cannot find decompressor" error, even though I can play it in WMP and others just fine.

Does anyone know the fix for this? I know there is one since I had been doing it until now.

To convert MP2 to MP3 a program will often decompress the MP2 to WAV then recompress to MP3 - rather than directly changing MP2 to MP3.
I'm therefore guessing that what ever software virtualdub relied on for this process is now missing. Are there any media programs that were installed before your crash that you've not put back? Have you run WMP for the first time so that it's got past it's setup screens?

I know there's something I'm missing, but since it was over a year of stuff I've played around w/, it could have been anything. I was hoping someone had this working now, and knew what they used to get it working.

I've tried saving the stream to wav first, but it still won't, giving me the "cannot find program to decompress audio" or something like that. I'll probably have to do it in Audition for now or something.
