I think you might find out that this is the enhanced version.
I don't know if there ever was a non-enhanced version.Sad

I think Enhanced is bleading edge, and the copy shipped with GBPVR is usually a couple of versions behind

I wrote the original web admin included with GB-PVR, which included the login screen, tv guide + popup to schedule a recording, plus recordings list. I realised I wasnt really going to want to update this myself all the time, since it wasnt really a feature I was going to be using, so I included the source code with GB-PVR for others to update.

The first user to add a couple of tweaks using this source code was KingArgyle, and he posted this slightly updated version in the 'Enhanced Web Admin' thread. Since then its been updated by several users, with most notable contributions by UncleJohnsBand and Normanr. I can still see the original screens I wrote in it's current incarnation, but a lot of extra stuff has been added since that original version.

I typically update the version included with GB-PVR to the current version of the (enhanced) web admin with each release.

So in effect, the 'enhanced' part of the name isnt needed. Its all just the same web admin.

I agree with dgezzer. This is way, way cool. After some mistakes I made regarding versions, I got everything working perfectly.

OT: From the olden days ... I've still got all the WinTV apps installed

WinTV2000
Scheduler
Decoder
Drivers (150 card)
Remote control
IRblaster config

I've got/installed/use Theatertek DVD (2.4) which includes the most recent nvidia decoders.
I don't and won't be using the WinTV remote control (or receiver)
I will be using the irblaster to control the dish receiver

I assume I can remove: WinTV2000, scheduler, decoder * (if gbpvr has the nvidia decoder in its list), and remote control from the PC. I assume I need to keep the irblaster and obviously the driver. Am I correct about this?

Great explanation... I was thinking of updating the wiki to reflect this information, and try and remove some of the ambiguity I've noticed...

I am in a similar situation. After reading this thread, I enabled Web Scheduling on port 7647 and set a new user name and password. I can access the webguide on the host machine using http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx, but http://"IP Address Here":7647/gbpvr/login.aspx from my bedroom machine does not work.

I have a Linksys router for my network and I am not quite sure how to configure it to allow me to access the other machine on port 7647.

Any ideas on what I am missing? Thanks.

@ LaGuy: I'm not completely sure I understand you right. Anyway.

You would have to setup your router so that it forwards port 7647 to the machine where gbpvr is running on.
Don't forget to setup the firewall (if you have one) on both machines to let through the traffic.

You don't have to do anything to your Linksys router; it allows all traffic between different LAN hosts.

I bet you have a software firewall or two running on one or both PCs. (e.g. ZoneAlarm or Windows Firewall). Try temporarily disabling all software firewalls, then try the webadmin page. If it works, there's your problem.

The firewall was the culprit! I didn't even think about it when I ran into the problem. Thanks!

Bonus: Open port 7647 on your router, use VLC on your GBPVR and remote client and you effectively get the equivalent of a Slingbox® without forking over another US$200+.
