Error in mvp connect

I don't know if it's mvpmc or gbpvr related but so I thought I'd post in both Having problems with emulation mode on mvpmc - works fine if I run the hauppauge service but if I try to use gbpvr's mvp gui mvpmc fails. It looks gbpvr related (I've attached the log) but the gbpvr gui normally works if I run a hauppauge dongle.bin so it's something to do with the interaction of gbpvr and mvpmc.

Has anyone had this working sucessfully?

Kristan, and anyone any having issues with mvpmc emulation mode and GB-PVR, if you don't have problems with the dongle.bin it is mvpmc related and I would ask you to get support through the various mvpmc channels as I go through the testing stages.

1) For geneneral support on mvpmc there are several methods on the mvpmc site http://www.mvpmc.org, mailing lists, wikis, forums. I prefer the mailing lists over the forums.

2) For emulation mode support you can always email me directly at mvallevand@mvpmc.org

3) The alpha software on my web site is truly pre-release material so email support is the only method.

There's still a lot of work to go on emulation mode before any support can be asked of sub but it definitely is working to a limited extend at startup for several testers.

I'm having the exact same problem. The reason I turned to mvpmc was to be able to play back mpegs with ac3 audio encoding. And it works great. My problem is that I learned about mvpmc after gbpvr, that is, I don't want to give up gbpvr's incredible gui and functionality. So the key to me becoming a gbpvr user (and donater) is support for mvpmc's emulation mode or, preferably, a gbpvr dongle that supports ac3 decoding.

You're asking from the wrong end. I'm not personally going to be adding support for mvpmc, or even testing with it. You'd have to ask the mvpmc guys about that. Your couple of bucks isnt going to change that.

That said, mvallevand is working towards this goal from the mvpmc end, so hopefully in the near future you will be able to use the mvpmc emulation mode as the client for GB-PVR.

If you are using the Hauppauge MediaMVP Content Service to serve dongle.bin or control media and gbpvr for the GUI then mvpmc emulation mode won't work That is what I interpreted in Kristan's logs. You will need to see something like both of these line in your log.
