Hi there,

I am using an pvr350, and still have got troubles with recordings and the tv-out after waking up from standby or hiberation - even using the wake.cmd and the gbpvrwake!

I am thinking about buying an used pvr150 and another graphics card with tv-out. Any recommendations for the graphic card?

I have got an p4 1.6Ghz with 512MB of RAM! XP SP2

Thanks,
Dietmar

Why would you buy another tv-card, not using the tv-out on the 350 practically turns it into a 150.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

Hi,

i forgot to tell i am using an dell optiplex gx240, that means i can only use this low profile agp cards or full size pci cards!

Are there low-profile (low-height) agp cards available for really-good tv-out?

Thanks,

Hi,

I have got troubles with the tv out after waking up standby or hibernate. I have read several post here in this forum, also tried the thing using the wake.cmd.

This works (for the tv-out), but I get some error-messages from the recording service stating the capture-device is not available...

But the quality of tv-out is great!

Thanks,
Dietmar

Hi, I've been battling the TV-OUT on the PVR-350 for the past 2 weeks. I can't keep the screen on the TV-OUT from locking up. I talked to Sub on a couple of threads and he has basically highlighted that the TV-OUT is really really buggy on the PVT-350 (and an old method of communicating with the TV). I'm keeping the 350 for video capture but looking at an alternative graphics card with a DVI output to feed my TV. Hope that helps.

I have been battling too. My PVR350s TV-Out works great but I have been trying to get good TV output from my Asus 6600GT (GBPVR will probably stop working with 350 TV out sooner or later), and I haven't really succeeded.

The TV out from my 6600GT is so much worse than from the PVR350 I think I must be doing something wrong. The colours are worse, less contrast. Tearing when the camera moves. I have tried different mpeg decoders, fiddled with the nView control panel/resolutions/refreshrates. No luck... If someone has a video card that gives good TV output I also want to know about it...

You should look at the MediaMVP for a PVR350 replacement... PQ should be about the same. Its doubtful a regular video card will ever match it, especially on interlaced video content.

If your using the 350 then an MVP probably wouldn't be a hinderance to as your not concerned with anything other than mpeg.

however if your interested you can go to newegg & do a search for either AGP or PCI cards & use the keyword 'low'

It looks to me the best you can do is a 64 bit gforce 6200

Or a 132 bit radeon 9600 mobile or even a 64 bit radeon 9550.
