Friend reported that his TVGuide ended up blank as it was not getting updated automatically. xmltvnz working OK and the epg/TVGuide would update if invoked manually. Looking at his gbpvrrecordingservice.exe logs I can see lots of database errors but it also reports that the epg update was successful. EPG set to update at 5.00am.

Logs attached.

Edit:- the database errors come from the conversion process. He has switched the dvr-ms to 'no conversion' so this should fix this. However, the tvguide is still not updating properly e.g. his ends at Sun, not Mon, as mine does.
Sorry if the header is not very accurate.

I'm not really sure what caused the database error in the first place, but this left the database in a lock state, meaning pretty much everything database related would fail. Logs dont really give any obvious causes why this happened. A reboot would probably have clear it up.

Thanks a lot, sub. I'll get him to reboot to see if that sorts it.

Just to round this off, by stopping the file conversion process it got rid of the database errors and locking and the next epg update went fine.
