Hi,

I'm having some problems with trying to do the xml thing automaticly. So what happens? I get my xml file in linux (i live in Belgium, and the only good program that i found that does this, only works in linux) automaticly every night at around 1am. It puts this in a directory that is "shared".

Then i made in my windows pc a directory mapping to that linux share. So that the file is available at "g:\tv.xml".

And then i pointed in config.exe from gbpvr to that file. And then i waited (actually slept Tongue ).
In the morning i found the error message that it couldnt find that file. (i thought that gbpvr always updates between 3-4am). When i did the importing manually with the same settings in config.exe, it worked completely fine though. And the file has as creation hour 1.01 am so that part worked good.

Does anybody know what the problem can be? I was thinking that the automicly update of gbpvr might not support drive mapping. Other then that i'm completely clueless. (and i cant do a lot of testing since i have to wait a day for every try).

Remember, the GB-PVR Recording Service that does the EPG update is running as another user, so it can see any of the drives you mapped under your user account.

You could probably explicitly call out the network location though instead of using a drive mapping right sub?

For example if the linux box was 192.168.1.5  he could set the file to:

\\192.168.1.5\tv.xml

instead of g:\tv.xml

Of course I'm not sure if a user/pass would be required for the linux box.

Guess this is the downside of a service doing this work.

Another way might be to use the winxp (or 2000) scheduler to copy the tv.xml file from the mapped linux drive to the local machine, then configure gbpvr to use the local file.

Hi Crazyx. Why do you do all this? You have Linux box!! Just ftp the file over. Or better still rcp it over with SSH. Plenty of unattended FTP scripts around.

If you install PuTTy (by Simon Tatham), create a SSH key with a blank passprhase and keep it loaded with pagent and then kick off the command version of rcp. Whoosh file is local now. Import it and you are away.
