Hello,
I'm running 98.8b but had this problem in the previous version.
Problem: After a few hours of constant Live TV viewing, the video/audio becomes choppy more and more until the picture just freezes. Sometimes I don't get the choppy AV but the freeze right away. Sometime GBPVR will work well for several days. I'm now timing exactly how much "TV Viewing" time before it happens.
"Solution": In testing this problem I've found three things:
1) I can ESC out of Live TV and everything else with GBPVR works just fine.
2) I can Exit GBPVR and open Hauppauge's WinTV application and Live TV still works.
3) If I close the recording service and relaunch GBPVR, all is well again.
Troubleshooting: This is my 2nd GBPVR unit, unfortunately I'm using slightly different hardware on both units. The two critical differences are: 1) nVidia vs. ATI display cards, both using S-Video out. 2) different computers.
In working with this I had the chance to upgrade the CPU. I'm currently running a newer computer with a fresh XP install, latest nVidia drivers, and latest GBPVR with no add-ons save for the Volume plugin. I still have the same issue. The nVidia card is still there.
I've tried various combinations of MPEG decoders and audio codecs. I have the same problem with: InterVideo, CyberLink, and Dscaler. All with the same result.
I gut feeling is it's some conflict with the nVidia card and/or it's drivers. Everything else ad either been reinstalled or replaced at this point. Since I just rebuilt this unit this weekend I've just turned on Debug in the logs in hopes of catching something more concrete.
