I've read a couple threads on the PVR500 having some difficulties on the second tuner with picture quality, so I want to confirm if this is indeed my problem. I have a PVR150 and a PVR500 in my system, the 150 gets great picture quality on all channels, the PVR500 tuner #2 is half snowy on channel 2, and the snow gets less on ch 3, even less on 4, and on up to where ch 7/8 are pretty good quality. The PVR500 tuner #1 exhibits similar behavior, but not nearly as bad, it is watchable. I thought maybe it is a signal problem due to my running a 4-way splitter from the wall, which then goes to the PVR system. I plugged the PVR500 directly into the wall, and the picture does get a bit better, but ch 2 is still snowy. Even behind the splitter the 150 is great (I know the 500 has a built in splitter which will further degrade quality, but it still does it directly plugged into the wall).
Could this be a case of a faulty card or could possibly installing an in-line amplifier help the situation? I've already replaced all of the cables with high quality gold plated cables and it is still snowy, updated to the latest drivers, etc. Thanks.
