High pitched whine in audio even while recording

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to the whole running a TV on my computer thing. Whenever I watch TV or record TV there's a high pitched whine in the background making the actual audio impossible to hear. It doesn't always happen, but often enough to make TV watching annoying. If I go up a channel and down again, sometimes it works. If I keep up the channel flipping it will eventually work, but I can't do that with recordings.

I'm using version 1.0.2168.28054 of GBPVR.
My TV card is a Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (PVR-500, the one with 2 tuners)

Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Have you tried playing the recorded program back in a different program such as Windows Media Player to see if the problem is in the recording, or possibly in your choice of playback decoders?

I am watching it back in Windows Media Player. I don't think the problem is in the playback drivers because the same problem occurs while watching live TV.

Have you updated your capture card drivers?
