I have a video folder in my Video directory and when trying to view it thru the MVP, my computer gets the ActiveMovie Window on the taskbar and I can hear the movie but can't view it on the MVP or the computer. I've never seen this before and can find very little info on this. Are there settings or can this be messed with at all?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Thanks for helping sub.
Logs attached. The minute I stop the mpv, the activemovie window in the taskbar closes automatically.

Yes and no Smile I'm trying to play a dvd that I copied to my hard drive. I figured it wouldn't work but when I saw the ActiveMovie Window pop up and actually heard the video play, I thought I had a chance.
Thanks for the help.

This is kinda old, but hoped you'd catch the thread...

Same thing happened to me... I DVD decrypted 4 VOBs from a DVD to my
Harddrive. But in the Video Plugin, instead of seeing for VOBs, I see just one file with a dvd extension. I try it and it locks the MVP session.

"Yeah, don't do that..." he says, snorting into his coffee...

The question is, I'd like to see the dir listing as it exists, so I can hook in ZProcess or a transcode or something...

I read somewhere that VOBs and DVD exposure is dependant on licensing and such...

Could you make the directory structure appear as it is, instead of {whatever}.dvd ?

Thanks

The same thing happened to me as well (Sorry - I did try to play a DVD content from the HD), but I actually saw the ActiveMovie window. The funny thing is that I could control the DVD playback (on my PC) from the MediaMVP remote (pointing at the MVP).

Okay, so no DVD playback. I can live with that - I can convert (offline) the VOBs into MPGs. I'll choose the right audio track and will be fine. I do have two questions:

1. Is there a way to add chapter information to an MPG (or AVI) so that FF and REW would work while playing the video? This feature of DVD playback is something I'd rather not loose... if I had to implement, I wouldn't mind having a file called movie.chp (just as an example) with the time for each chapter point. There are a few standards for such a file (usually used for importing such information into DVD authoring programs).

2. Is there a way to see VOBs, so that I can still keep multiple audio channels, but more importantly - subtitles?

Thanks.
