Sub,

I have an offer, let me know if you are interested. I am one of the people having video out crashes with your software as well as sagetv. I am using an IBM Netvista M41. I have access to the exact motherboard and processor I am using. I would be happy to ship it to you so you can replicate the problem (you stated before you have not seen this happen). I think sage is going to drop the ball on this and I have a lot of faith in your product. If interested I could send:

IBM Netvista M41 motherboard
intel pentium IIII 2g processor
at least 256megs memory

Its probably not really practical to ship it to me here in New Zealand, and I suspect I'd only be able to confirm that there is a bug in the drivers. That said, if I'd found a specific "thing" the drivers dont like, I might be able to avoid doing that thing.

Have you seen a specific pattern to these lockups? Is the OSD always visible when it locks up? Is it when you're changing channels? Does it happen when you're just watching video, with nothing else happening.

Also, if you go into Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer management -> Device Manager, and then select to view "resources by type". What IRQ is you PVR350 using? and are any other devices using the same IRQ?

I wish there was a pattern.

I would say the OSD is visible most of the time but the crash happens random too.

If i switch channels or surf channels in the mini guide it is going to crash for sure. I get about 5-6 seconds of play from recording then I get an orange screen on the TV. If I leave it up for about an hour on one channel it will freeze an image on the TV until I reboot. So in short it can crash in all the situations that you mentioned. This is not just with your product but also with sagetv. Same situation. I seem to be in a growing group that is seeing this issue.

I am fairly sure i am not having an IRQ conflict but will check tonight when I get home.

I would really love for you to see it happen. Terminal Services maybe if you are interested?
