How to keep track of show information from db

Hey everyone,
I'm currently in the process of creating a plugin for this great application.
I need to store some sort of identifier about a show in order to check it's start time. This will happen many times so I need to be able to keep track of this show regardless of EPG Updates.
Would anyone be able to help me with this?
Hopefully I have explained this well enough, if not please let me know and I will try to explain more clearly.

Yes it does change.

For zap2it users, you can try to track shows based on unique ID, but there is no equivalent for the rest of the users. GB-PVR internally relies on the start + name to identify a show. If either of these change, its not the same show. Its a pain in the butt - there is just no good source info for tracking this.

programme_oid? or just program's oid? i would think the programme_oid wouldn't.. and do you mean on a specific single show?
interested...i thought programme_oid didn't change..

The PROGRAMME table oid column value will change for most users during an EPG update.

The RECORDING_SCHEDULE table programme_oid column will not typically change but.... episodes of season recording will often have its RECORDING_SCHEDULE record deleted and recreated, and the programme_oid column can change during this. One off recordings wont be deleted and recreated, and the oid wont change.

i'm making a batch to save and restore the re-occurings only, i adjust the channels for the new mappings, and also get the 'extras' table too...
so far so good, it seems to work fine

is there anything else i might be missing other than adjusting the recording groups so they don't collide with existing ones?
