When hardware decoder is set to Hauppauge pvr350 there is no signal when i try to watch live tv. When I switch to none, there is a signal but the quality is not as good as when watching on wintv 2000.
A little history: The cable is running through the 350 card and out the dvi output of my nvidia 6200 card directly to an hdmi input (via dvi to hdmi cable) on my 42" lcd screen. I am also using purevideo as my decoder.
Any advice? Thanks

Sorry, I dropped support for the PVR350's TV out about 18 months ago, so it hasnt been tested in a long time. It may well be broken.

I dont really understand what you're saying here. Are you trying to use the PVR350's tv out, or the 6200's DVI out? I recommend the latter - the PVR350's TV out is not supported.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using the 6200s DVI output. It is going to the lcd's hdmi input. Do i need to change any configs for this. I cant seem to get it working. Thanks

Ok, so you're not using PVR350's hardware decoder as you implied in your post above...

What decoder are you using?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I appologize for my ignorance as i am a complete newbie to pvr's but i didnt understand the "gbpvr.exe-native.log" part. I guess i should not be using the hardware decoder for the 350. That being said, I changed the hardware decoder to "none-use software decoder" and the live tv works. The problem now is that the picture is very choppy. Before, i was using the wintv 2000 software that came with the pvr 350 and the picture was pretty good.

This is one of GB-PVRs log files. See the sticky 'posting support questions' thread.

The PVR350's hardware decoder is hard wired to the TV out connector on the back of the PVR350. It cant be used as a decoder when playing back on your monitor or videocard's TV out.

It most likely relates to whatever software decoder you're using. What video decoder do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? Have you tried other options you have listed there?

Some people also get a better picture with the Overlay video renderer than VMR, so worth trying this aswell.

I am using purevideo as a decoder so I have selected the NVIDIA video decoder. I guess i just need to mess with the adjustments under the nvidia video decoder settings. I know the graphics card is not the issue b/c the pic quality is great when i watch dvds.

Try the Overlay renderer.
