Just upgraded to 98.13b. Did a couple of recordings last night, but they stutter for half a second every 30 seconds. In the log I find this for each one:

00:13:01.796 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 31ms (0,0,0,0).....(,0,0,0)
00:13:01.796 VERBOSE SubmitTuningRequest(T:10788,V,22000,56~P:10302~V:2318~A:2319~L:eng~PMT:259~TXT:2320~N:>BBC 1 N West)
00:13:01.796 VERBOSE Submitting new Tuning Request
00:13:01.968 VERBOSE New tuning request submitted...
00:13:01.968 VERBOSE ServiceID: 10302, PMT PID: 259, VPID: 2318, APID: 2319
00:13:01.968 VERBOSE SubmitTuningRequest() complete

I have a Twinhan DVB-S, using the 'Twinhan DVB-S (DVB-TV 878 Digital Tuner Driver)' (version 1.2.3.8 of the twinhan BDA driver) and the signal strength and quality have never shown anything but 0 during channel scans in GB-PVR (though not in other apps). I suppose this is what is causing this retune and subsequent skip.
To fix the skip, I changed BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording in the config to 0, which seems to have disabled this check.

So, two questions. Firstly, is the old early filesize check still in there? That's saved me a few times, and I wouldn't like to think that I've just turned off the only check. Previously, I've had quite a few 6kb files that GBPVR has picked up on and restarted.

And secondly, less hopefully, has anyone managed to get the signal and quality strength reporting properly in GBPVR?

Thats odd that your device wouldnt be reporting the signal strength and quality. I also use a Twinhan DVB-S device, and it reports this info correctly.

Yes, its still there.

Yes, with the exact same device as you're using no less. Zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Here you go. These are the logs from last night when it kept re-tuning.
It's running on w2k3 server. I used to run it on a different machine on xp x64, which always reported zero for the signal stats too (at least during scan).

Thanks very much for the help

Yeah, thats really odd its showing no signal lock (assuming you have a signal?). All I can really suggest is setting BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording to zero, like you already have, which disables this logic.

Yep, lots of signal. Programmes record perfectly. In ProgDVB I get a level of 70% and a quality around 60%.

Working just fine though with the 0, and now I know it's still checking the filesize I'm glad to be back on the latest version again.
