BACKGROUND
I've eventually got my system more or less configured. It's a little complex, so let me explain that first.
My terrestrial TV signal, and my Digital set top box signal are sent round all the rooms in my home on regular co-axial.Channels 1-5 have been configured to internal tuner-aerial, and work perfectly (as does recording etc). The cable signal is set to the same capture source, but with a fixed channel, external tuner through the aerial.
The trick I can't manage is getting my digital set top box to change channel for recordings. I'm not sure which bit of the system I need to change.
My ntl Cable box is a Pace 2000, so I need a redeye to convert the irDa signal to regular RC5 ( or whatever). I know this works, as a regular remote now operates the channel changing on the box.
Because the HTPC is in a different room to the set top box, the signals are sent from room1 to room2 through a Marmitek Pyramid signal sender. I know this works too.
I have connected my USB-UIRT to the computer and this seems to work, as it has learned the signals, and I have the file saved, and lights flash at the appropriate times.
RECORDING PROBLEM
When I wish to record from the cable box, the UIRT blaster does send out a message - unfortunately, this message seems to be confused, and I'm not getting the right channel. Having looked here, at the RedEye site, and at the USB_UIRT site, I'm not quite clear where the problem lies.
Does anyone have any suggestions
