Yesterday my HTPC went crazy - it was incredibly slow, could not play videos normally, and the recordings done in the morning were all broken. I checked Task Manager and found that GBPVR.exe was eating all CPU resources!

I closed it and checked the logs. Here's what I found:

4+MB of logs contained the same error message, which GBPVR was continuously writing to the log files taking all CPU resources!

What was that? Anybody noticed anything like this?

What I did before this happened was just playing some Net radio. The problem could be related to that, but I cannot say for sure. By the way, Net Radio doesn't work reliably for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes stops playing after a minute or so. My HTPC is using wireless connection - can this cause the issues?

I'm using GB-PVR v0.98.13.

Do you mean it's a known bug? I tried to search the forum but didn't find anything about this.

localhost can not connect (for whatever reason) and the server rejects ... service hangs on half open connection due to no response ... ( I'm a little rusty)

Going by the error message, it looks like its not gracefully handling the situation where the station is initially connecting ok, but disconnecting from the server end at some time later.

I'll add some logic in to stop it happening in future.

Thank you, sub!

Can you also have a look at how Net Radio in general works when connection is not very reliable (like WiFi). In my case it's almost unusable, though Windows MediaPlayer on the same machine works good with the same stations.
Thanks!
