Before I describe my problem, I want to say that I love GBPVR!!! It is a great program and its background recording service is by far the most reliable I have ever used.
I have two PCs running GBPVR. One has a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 external tuner, the other (my main media PC) has an internal Hauppauge WinTV 500 dual tuner. They are both running the same version of GBPVR (v0.98.13) and all three tuners are set to recieve listings from zap2it. Both PCs are running Windows XP Pro. The PC with the WinTV500 frequently gets its listings wrong while the PC with the USB2 is, so far as I can tell, nearly always correct.
In the particular instance I ran into tonight, the correct listings as viewed from the zap2it web site and verified with http://www.scifi.com were:
11/3 8:00pm Doctor Who
11/3 9:00pm Battlestar Galactica
11/3 10:00pm Doctor Who
11/3 11:00pm Battlestar Galactica
When I checked the USB2 PC, it was correct. However the WinTV500 PC listed:
11/3 8:00pm Doctor Who
11/3 9:00pm Battlestar Galactica
11/3 10:00pm Battlestar Galactica
11/3 11:00pm Doctor Who
I did an "Empty EPG" and reloaded. then it read:
11/3 8:00pm Doctor Who
11/3 9:00pm Battlestar Galactica
11/3 10:00pm Battlestar Galactica
11/3 11:00pm Battlestar Galactica
I did another "Empty EPG" and reloaded then it was correct.
I verified that both PCs are up to date on the .NET framework.
Here are my two questions:
1) What steps should I follow to find out what is going wrong?
2) Would it be better (more reliable) for me to use xmltv to download a single datafile from zap2it to use in GBPVR?
Thank you very much,
Dennis
