I'm using the latest GBPVR version with an ATI Theater 550 and USBUIRT0056 .

Lately the GBPVR front-end program started behaving strangely, "eating up" all the available CPU and not responding. The high CPU load caused me to have to kill the process.

When using Process Explorer it said the CPU load came from somewhere in the USB-UIRT DLL. That's not necesserily an accurate pinpoint but it was a good place to start.

Disabling XMLTV and USBUIRT channel switching in the setup program indeed stopped the strange behaviour.
I re-installed the driver, re-instated the connection to USB-UIRT and for now it seems to work...

Don't know what to make of it - hope it helps other people too.

A few USB-UIRT users have had this problem recent. I dont know why.

Thats interesting. I wonder what change this made.

Since I had this problem (was it a week ago?) I haven't had it again. And I still haven't applied the proposed "fix" (to enable <recycleusb-uirt> in config) :o . All I did was to restart the computer, and so far so good.
I'm not always right

Thats also good to know - any may be the same reason that comment above about reinstalling the same driver seemed to correct the problem.

Actually I was too quick. Problem returned shortly later. Still something with USB-UIRT driver, apparently.

In the thread below, torque proposes you add recycleusbuirt to the config app. You could try that and see if it helps...

I thought I'd follow up with this. So far, GBPVR has been behaving for the last couple weeks. Haven't had to restart the service and I haven't rebooted the machine. Here's the things I've done:

1) added recycleusbuirt like Stefan above mentioned.
2) updated usbuirt drivers.
3) applied jerky patch Sub posted in another thread.
4) disabled GBPVR web server component in config app.

Since I'm at home more than away for the next few weeks, I'm gonna leave the web service disabled for now, then try re-enabling it later and see if the high cpu spikes start showing up again.

I haven't done any of the above, and it still behaves very well since I restarted the computer... I have no idea what the problem was, other than that it was related to the usb-uirt...
