Hello
and thanx for a great application,
I have used it for almost two year with a Hauppage MCE 500 without a problem, but now when I have ordered a FloppyDTV together with lots of encrypted channels (Boxer) I have to stop using gbpvr due to the lack of CAM support and give MCE or MediaPortal another chance.

Is there anything at all I/we can do to help you support encrypted DVB-T channels?

There're special drivers for Fire/FloppyDTV to make encrypted channels work in MCE, maybe this is a shortcut?

/Andreas

btw, someone should probably update the HW support pages with info that only free channels are supported with the DVB cards, I found this out in the forum _after_ I placed my order :-(

Just to let you know, I have a FloppyDTV for DVB-C and it works fine in GBPVR. GBPVR is in fact unaware that there is a CAM involved because it is built in to the FoppyDTV and GBPVR just receives the unencrypted stream. I think there is a limitation when the CAM is separate.

FloppyDTV DVB-C and Alphacrypt CAM doesn't give me encrypted channels in GB-PVR, only free to air. So I wonder what setup CK- is using. Could you post some more info?

I have now got my FloppyDTV-T and tried it out and verified that GBPVR can't handle the scrambled channels that I have access to via e.g MediaPortal.
What happens is what you would expect when you have encrypted content you can't handle,
the DVB channel mapper finds most of the channels but can't show them in the thumbnail preview window when you click on them in the list.
If you try to record a scrambled channel a zero byte file is created.
If you try to view one an unhandled error is shown.

sub: if you need any help at all if/when you decide to support this I'm sure there are many people who are willing to assist you with the help you want. I'm one of them.

CK-: Can you explain how you have setup your system?

CK-

I have recently acquired a FloppyDTV and want to use here in the UK with a legitamate SKY freeview card. Unfortunaltly the CAM is not recognised.

I relise that you use DVB-C but could you tell me how you managed it and what drivers that you used.

I agree in that CAM support is a must if GBPVR should keep its popularity.

I've got no plans for CAM support in the near future, but in many parts of the world you'll be able to use multidec plugins to achieve the same thing.
