Attached is the logs you suggested might provide a clue.

Wrong Logs....these look like they are from the gbpvr native program....I need the web logs...

Code:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\gbpvr\4d107d39\801bf7b5\assembly\dl3
Look under each subfolder until you find the gbpvrpublic.dll. In that directory you should see a .log file. Open it up and find the area near the botom where the streamer is preparing to launch.

Should look something like this.

Code:
12/6/2006 6:45:41 PM.986    INFO    [17]    ***********************
12/6/2006 6:45:41 PM.986    INFO    [17]    VLC Path= C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\Vlc\
12/6/2006 6:45:41 PM.986    INFO    [17]    Args= --intf http "E:\TV\A Christmas Story\A Christmas Story_20051222_20002200.mpg" :sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264{bframes=0,qp=,cabac=no-cabac,loopfilter=nf,analyse=none,adapt=none,me=dia,subme=6,chroma-me=none,merange=1,},vb=256,scale=00.50,acodec=mp4a,ab=64,channels=2}:standard{access=http,mux=ts,url=:7648} vlc:quit

Are the ports open in Windows Firewall? Also....you will get better playback performance (on the LAN or on the Internet) by using VLC as your client player on the remote PC.

OK will look for the logs you requested. There are no firewalls running on any PCs on my LAN. Or, I might just settle with VLC - just need to up the bitrate a bit to get a decent picture.

Depending on your upstream speed you can also set the audi bitrate lower and use Scale instead of a pre-set video size....lowering these will allow you to increase the bitrate.

I have the same problem, I cannot stream via EWA.

When I run EWA from the GPPVR PC I get this error message:

I have checked that VLC really is installed in the folder C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\Vlc\
It is, and I can excute it. If I double click on any mpg file in explorer, VLC will open and play it perfectly.

Closing the firewall makes no difference. What can be wrong?

Simplest thing to test is that the stream command is working......

Go to the directory where VLC is installed.
Open a Command Window (DOS Window).
Type in the following on the command line:
Code:
--intf http "R:\recordings\Ryanair - taget på sengen\Ryanair - taget på sengen_20060608_20002100.mpg" :sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=256,width=320,heig ht=213,acodec=mp4a,ab=32,channels=2}:standard{acce ss=http,mux=ts,url=:7648} vlc:quit
Start up the VLC Client program (VLC.exe) (Double click on it....
Select menu option File, Open Network Stream
Select the HTTP option and put in http://localhost:7648

If VLC is working correctly on you machine it should start playing the stream that the command line prompt started.....if not then you know something is not right on your machine.

The other thing it could be is the file name you are trying to stream......weird characters in the filename (which you appear to have) may be tripping up the command line....try renaming it to something without special charecters or try a file that does not have any special characters in it.

One more thing....if you are trying to stream to WMP I do not believe it can handle the MP4 video stream......VLC can but WMP can not......

Thanks for the advice.
I opened the command window, moved to the VLC folder and typed:

vlc --intf http "R:\recordings\chicago\Chicago_20061227_20002200.mpg" Confusedout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=256,width=320,heig ht=213,acodec=mp4a,ab=32,channels=2}Confusedtandard{acce ss=http,mux=ts,url=:7648} vlc:quit

Then I opened VLC and tried to do a network stream as you suggested, but nothing happened. I tried to uninstall and reinstall VLC. As you can see I also tried to stream a file with no special characters. So far nothing solved the problem, still no streaming.
Do you have any other suggestions before i give up?

I think you need to modify the command line to point to a true .mpg file on YOUR computer.

Here is a valid command line.....just change the file name to a file that exists on your machine.

Code:
vlc --intf http "\\Den\Video\TV\The Insider\The Insider_20061229_12301300.mpg" :sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264{bframes=0,qp=,cabac=no-cabac,loopfilter=nf,analyse=none,adapt=none,me=dia,subme=6,chroma-me=none,merange=1,},vb=256,scale=00.50,acodec=mp4a,ab=96,channels=2}:standard{access=http,mux=ts,url=:7648} vlc:quit

Open a command window in the VLC directory and then enter the above command line (substituting your file name)
When you enter this and hit enter you should be returned to the command prompt (appears nothing happens....but it should really be running....you can check your processes for VLC).

Now double click on VLC.exe to open up a client VLC instance.....

Do the file, open network stream and select http: option....

Now enter just localhost:7648 (if you enter the http:// like I said before it will not work :o .....VLC will automatically add the http:// for you....)
