PVR-150: perfect, no stereo on TV channels

For me, I need not have my Sony VCR in record. The pass-through signal is detected as stereo for the majority of tuned channels.

Is this still on the composite out of the vcr or is it on a coax out of the vcr I'm not an expert but this sounds like an signal-strength issue to me. The vcr will amplify your signal.

I configured only the composite video out, with stereo audio, after seeing the stereo beacon light up. But you do give me the idea of checking the VCR's coax out as input to the card to see if there is a >1.0 gain that may make the PVR-150 detect as expected. I'll let you know when the opportunity arises (day or two). I'd prefer VCR's coax out as the source for convenience and cost reasons. Thanks for the continued interest. - Dave

If you could borrow a rtv-signal -amp you could also try that.

I have the same problem. I haven't had stereo sound since I changed from the original drivers that came with the card. Only problem with them was that I got the TimeStamp problem. I can't remember if I tried the registry patch on them or just upgraded. I've just been living with mono sound. Let me know how the vcr coax works out or if anyone finds a solution to this problem.
