First off I am a total newbie, and if i am posting in the wrong place I am sorry. Tried to build a MythTV box, but got frustrated trying to get the harddrives formatted yada yada. Anyway I gravitated to GBPVR. I had a pvr-350 because I thought the TVOut would be nice to have in one card. But, after reading the forums it seems that the PVR-350 may not be the card I am looking for. So I am returning it to get a PVR-150 and another graphics (any recommedations?)

My question is if I get a pvr-150 and TVOut graphics card can i use one remote to record shows and then play them back? or basically how do i get it to work? I am trying to build a HTPC but also have access to the computer for surfing etc. at time. I have read many many posts (both here and mediaportal and other pvr software) but haven't started getting it setup yet as I haven't gotten the right card setup yet. Any beginning steps for total newbie to get it setup correctly the first time?

Also, once I get it setup is burning to DVD pretty straight forward?

First of all welcome Smile - I hear what you're say re myth - I think that is where a lot of us started before finding the holy grail that is GBPVR!

I'll try and answer what I can...

You only need one remote - this talks to gbpvr which then controls the 150 for recordings and will output to the graphics card for viewing.

Elite,

Thanks for the very quick response. I see you are running a pvr-350, i have one currently. In your opinion should I keep it or just start off with the 150. Also from your response is it that GBPVR is the basic interface for the whole PVR, it just has to be configured to use the graphics card for out?

i can't wait to get this thing going. Just want to get it right the first time
