Using EWA Build 53 on gbpvr 98.13 (w/ sqlite db3), I noticed that EWA's Episode Search was giving me duplicate entries in the genre dropdown box. Tried an EPG (zap2it) empty and reload (with complete reload option box checked) and did not see any change. After posting question on the EWA support thread, UJB suggested that I use sqlite spy to check the db3 database. Sure enough, duplicate entries exist in the genre table. I tried the EPG empty/reload and still no luck. Also tried deleting the entire Capture Source and re-adding this (along with EPG)... but all I got for my trouble was losing my recurring recordings list.

I'm not sure when this problem occured but it was probably over the last 3 weeks or so -- perhaps after an EWA upgrade. I'm hesitant to manually edit the db3 to remove duplicate entries since I could easily screw up the indexes/ references. Other suggestions?

I just checked my couple of machines, and dont have any duplicates here.

Could they possibly have been there for a several releases? There was a bug like this a long time ago.

Anyway, you can remove all the genre info by running gbpvr.exe with the "-removeallgenre" command line. After that, do an 'empty EPG' followed by 'update epg' and you should be fixed.

98% sure this only started happening a couple of weeks ago (I use EWA about once a week and it was a pretty obvious issue once in started happening).

Regardless, your command line option above seems to have done the trick.

Asked, answered, and corrected... THANKS
