I have setup season recordings for a number of shows. The system is recording up to 3 copies of each episode simultaneously. All 3 copies of the show will have exactly the same start time or will start within a couple of minutes of each other.

When I look at the TV Guide I can see that the shows are duplicated in the guide. When I look at the Pending Recordings screen I can see that the system is scheduling multiple recordings of the same show at or close to the same time.

If I delete the show from the "Recurring" recordings menu and then reload the EPG, all of the duplicates will dissappear from the TV Guide. The duplicates are not being downloaded as part of the EPG.

It appears that the duplicates are being accumulated by GBPVR. I am guessing that the EPG is being updated over several days with perhaps small changes to the start time. GBPVR is keeping the previously scheduled recording and adding a new copy with perhaps a start time 1 minute later.

I did not see this problem in the previous release of GBPVR.

Note: I have ticked the "Complete EPG Reload" option on the Capture Sources screen.

Is there a parameter in GBPVR that would prevent the system from scheduling recordings at the same time on the same channel ? Perhaps a timer that prevented recordings from starting within 3 minutes of each other ?

Can GBPVR be setup to schedule recordings based on just todays copy of the EPG. It appears to keep recordings from several days EPG reloads resulting in the duplicates based on old schedules.

Any ideas for debugging this would be appreciated.

I'm aware of two reasons this can happen:

1) you're feeding it an xmltv file that has multiple shows listed at the same time
2) or you've created multiple season recordings for the same show.

I'd start by looking in your xmltv files.

Hi,

I am using the DVB EPG Broadcast for my TV Guide.

I have duplicates on many shows but if I take "Shaun the Sheep" as an example: I have setup 2 Season Recordings for this show. One on ABC1 and one on ABC2. Will this be a problem for GBPVR ? Should I delete one to test ?

I am seeing the following error in the GBPVR Recording Service Log. I will turn off Multi-Dec to see if this helps.
2010-01-20 08:02:00.000 ERROR [5] Unexpected error checking tuning on back-to-back multirecords

Update: I turned off Multidec and reloaded the EPG. I still see duplicates.

Any ideas for debugging this would be much appreciated.

Zip and attach your gbpvr.db3, and name/time of some example scheduled recordings to look at.

Hi,

gbpvr.db3 file attached. There are quite a few duplicates but lets use:
- "Shaun the Sheep" 26th Jan 3:52pm x2
- "Shaun the Sheep" 26th Jan 5:58pm and 6:01pm

Many thanks for taking a look.

Hi Sub,

I also have this problem. I don't know when it started, but it has existed for quite a while in previous releases of X2. I'm using ver 1.4.7 with Schedules Direct on a 14 day cycle with a complete EPG reload. It's mainly an inconvenience, but it can cause a lost recording by tying up a tuner that is needed for another program. I can also help with logs and do some testing if needed.
