Blank screen with Hauppage PVR-150MCE

Hi,

I followed the step by step instructions exactly and found that I can not get any video to come through. If I set the card up as "Composite/External tuner" I can hear audio from my video camera that is plugged in, or if I set it to "Internal Tuner" I can hear my local TV stations but in both cases, the video is just a blank screen.

I have searched for help but can't seem to come up with anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a mpeg-decoder installed. You can choose one (if you have) in gbpvr-config-playback-videodecoders. Check if there is anything under 'default'.

That was it; under the "playback" tab, I selected something other than "default" for the video decoder, and it works fine now.

If selecting a video decoder is a necessary step, I might suggest that be included in the next version of the step by step guide to avoid confusion from noobs like me

I already had a ATI Theatre 650 in my box, put in a PVR-150MCE a couple of weeks ago, and it went smooth as silk. I didn't have to select anything special, it's on default.
