I see, so basically I am screwed if that happens to be the case..

I will try and view the recorded video through the original hauppage software.

If that doesn't work then I will go and quietly hit my head against the wall & condemn to hell the UK broadcasters for wasting my time.

If that is your problem (AC3 audio track), then there was one thing you could do if you have a reasonably fast PC. You could try setting <MvpTranscodeAllVideo>true</MvpTranscodeAllVideo> in config.xml

I have 2.8 ghz P4, 1 gig ram

Would that be enough?

Just give it a go, if you're not using your system for anything else (gaming f.i.) I'll guess you'll be alright.
