PostProcessing and Auto Conversion

I got a PVR 150 for christmas, downloaded GB and have been tweaking since. I finally got everything set up the way i wanted, but some of the things i recorded i want to put through the post processing again. Is there any way to do that?

You can manually convert one file at a time by viewing the files using the gbpvr video library - you may need to add directories to the 'Video Library Directories' on the 'Directories' tab on gbpvr config. Highlight the file you want to convert and then select the transcode option on the menu. Use the left and right arrow key to cycle to the conversion you require e.g. xvid, divx etc.

that would work for the conversions, but i also want to use comclean. is there any way to write a batch file or run them back through the postprocessing? i have my postprocessing set up great, but it only will do the new ones.

There is nothing to stop you running postprocessing.bat and passing in the name of the file you want processed.

thanks. i thought i had comclean set up the way i want, but now it runs as such:

runs comskip
runs comclean and generates a cleaned version
transcodes the orginial version with commercials still in it

what would i have to change in comclean to have it rename the origianal something else instead of the cleaned version? or would it be easier to change the transcoding? and is the transcoding normally run after postprocessing? will running postprocessing on a file add it to the conversion queue?

Sorry, I cant really help you with that. I dont use comclean (or a PostProcessing.bat file either). I'm also a bit of bunny when it comes to batch files.

It depends. The two where treated entirely independently, but transcoding could have been configured to run between set hours. I've often said that if users have created a PostProcessing.bat file, they should consider directly doing the conversion in their batch file rather than risking undesirable conditions like a conversion and comclean trying to run at the same time.

No, the two are unrelated. PostProcessing.bat is just a batch file that the user can create if they want to run something each time GB-PVR finishes a recording.

ok, so i can get it to run the postprocessing right, but what are the specifics for xvid conversion? ive been playing around with ffmpeg and all of the things i try end up horrible. What are the standard settings in GB for XviD conversion, ie what would i put in the command line?

The ffmpeg command lines used by GB-PVR are listed in the <CustomFFmpegConversions> section of config.xml.
