Extract from PVRX2.exe log
Code:
2010-02-16 09:51:54.036    VERBOSE    [1]    PlaybackPositionManager.getLastPlaybackPosition(D:\livetv\Star Trek The Next Generation\Star Trek The Next Generation_20100216_01000200.avi)

I have pvrx2 set to do file conversion from ts to avi at night but this recording was ts. For some reason out of the blue after the recording the extension is being set to avi before the conversion. This just started to happen in the last couple of days.

I've attached config.zip (config.xml)

GB-PVR wouldnt have changed the extension of your file. There is no code in the application that does this.

Hi it changed it in the database to avi. The actual file has a ts extension before conversion.

This only happens when the conversion (ts to avi) is running during the record process 12:00am-8:00am (or until last conversion is finished). So If I'm recording and the conversion process is converting video's from the trans queue then the recorded file extension gets changed to avi in the database even though it has not been converted yet.

When the application has to load the recording list, it checks the file is still on the disk. If its not found, it first looks for a version with different extension (like the user has transcoded it and deleted the original), then saves the new file name to the database. If the original file wasnt found, and no alternative extension, then it deletes the recording from the datasbase.

So, assuming the original file was left in place, I cant see why it would update the database.

Are you using a custom transcode job? If so, what does that job do?

ie, it runs the transcode job, and when it completes it updates the filename in the database. If you're running a batch file for your processing job, which is launching something asynchronously, and returning immediately to the app, then it'd think your transcode is complete. In this case you'd need to change your batch file to not return until the conversion was complete.

I dug a little deeper, I removed media center and it seemed to affect the mpeg4 codec. So transcoding was going really fast since it did not work. I'm not sure what is happening yet but it is not pvrx2's fault.

Edit : thanks for the quick reply Smile
