"Whats New" Recordings Menu

How is the Recordings\Whats New Menu populated?

Is it the last "x" number of recordings or such? Can that number be increased easily (currently 35 or so)?

I typically "Archive" a number of recordings for additional processing (removal of Ads, writing to DVD), but as I may not get round to them for a week or two they drop off this view.

There is an option in the config.xml file called WhatsNewDayCount. By default it is set to seven days (<WhatsNewDayCount>7</WhatsNewDayCount>)
You should be able to change this to any number you like.

Preinke, I am happy you brought that up. I had never thought of changing that and lately need it since I haven't been watching my shows.

Carlito, Can I have it ignore my daily shows so the list is shorter? It is my weekly shows I would like to see in there.

As far as I know there is no way to filter what shows are displayed. It will show all shows recorded for 'WhatsNewDayCount' number of days

I've set it to 14 and is working as I'd hoped.

Now if there was a simple way to remember all these minor edits I make to config.xml so that I could put them back in after an Upgrade

Good point. I need to do something like log it into a text file in My Documents.

or add a change history section to the header of config.xml
