Again, I have to challenge you on this. I left GB-PVR running, and set the other file, with different program schedule than one in TV Guide, to reload automatically with the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled.
If you dont think it emptied the EPG first, zip and attach the logs that show the automated EPG update occurring and I'll take a look.

I believe it empties EPG in database. Otherwise I wouldn't see right EPG in TV Guide after restart.
But, I know what I saw. I don't know how whole system works, I can just post my views, observations etc.
Is it somehow possible that active GBPVR (client, user front end - call it whatever, you know what I mean Wink ) holds something like "session cache" for a TV Guide? And it doesn't release it completely until restart. Actually, this is kind of behaviour I've experienced. How do you explain overlapping in TV guide in some cases? That leads to conclusion that two xml files are somehow loaded (at the same time!) in whatever causes TV Guide display through GB PVR front end.

Anyway, the other guys pointed important fact for me that I can record without GBPVR running. Recording service is enough and it always run. So, that solves my problem. But, if someone wants to have GBPVR running all the time, for whatever reason, the situation is different.

Thank you and the other guys participated in this thread. You helped me a lot. I hope I'll manage to get application running according to my preferences.

I still have this problem if I follow "official" procedure, i.e. automated EPG update. I would gladly post my logs here, but I cannot find any regarding EPG update in my logs folder. There are only gbpvr, RecordingService, Tray and config log files, and neither has a timestamp from the time of automated EPG update. only thing I can post here is print screen from my TV guide showing overlapping with the show I wanna record (Seinfeld).

As you can see from TV guide it seems like show starts twice: first small box with "Se", and then following with "Seinfeld" box. Last night I got two recordings as a result of such overlapping. Fortunately, one was right. I also noticed that overlapping occurs only with this show: the only one I record these days. That could mean that show scheduled for recording somehow stays in database even after EPG update. I know it sounds weird, but that is what I got (and you can see). (recording mode is "all season")

Other than that, I got solved the problem from this thread after I uninstalled NetLimiter. That means computer regularly wakes up for EPG update or recording either from hibernation or from standby.
Even hotfix installation wasn't necessary (anyway, thanks again to HtV) and NOD32 is running, following the procedure from survival guide.

One important thing to note is that it will not remove shows that were sheduled as one off recordings - which is what I suspect happened here.

Zip and attach the your logs though, and I'll check that GB-PVR is infact removing the old season recordings prior to doing the EPG update.

What logs? Recording Service logs or whole logs folder? I can do that tonight (Central European Time).
Record type is "Record Season" and that is the only recording currently scheduled.
But, even if it won't work as I expect, very simple batch script solves the issue here.

Its the recording service logs.

Was it the original episode you scheduled? Its treated like the master record, so cant be deleted. Subsequent episodes are deleted.

It was not original episode (if you mean by that "first to record in the series"). And the same thing happened two days in a row (since TV station slightly changed their schedule).

I'll send you all the recording service logs tonight. I must say that yesterday I correct that using script to update EPG, so probably it won't be visible from that log. But if there is the log from Tuesday it should have everything.

Here are my logs. Please, take a look at the bottom of GBPVRRecordingService.exe-3.log. There are two pending shows scheduled on 31.1.2007. within 35 minutes: one at 0:15, the other at 0:50 - that is actually the same show.

One other thing as well: as I said, I record all season of Seinfeld. But, tonight episode has been left out from recordings, it wasn't marked for recording, nor in pending list. I noticed that accidentally. All episodes in following days are in the list.
And here is one more fact: tonight's episode is after midnight and tomorrow's episode is before midnight - they are on a same date. Is that the reason why it has been left out? if so, how can I handle it? Because it it very common situation with a shows starting around midnight: one day is before, next day is after midnight.
