Hello, I want to be able to change channels on the cablebox downstairs from my bedroom upstairs using haupblast.exe. I have gbpvr running on both machines in each room and want to send the remote signal to the haupblast.exe on the downstairs machine. I am sharing the gbpvr folder on the downstairs machine and pointing to the exe in the setup in the bedroom machine but get no response. Currently I'm using a remote extender to send the commands downstairs using the haupblat.exe on the upstairs machine, but would like to do away with the extender. haupblast is working fine on each machine, just can't seem to share it. I don't have enough horsepower to have a server client streaming setup. Does anyone know if this can be done without doing the client-sever option.

SUB This is a great great program!!

The remote extender sound like the easiest solution.

If both machines PVR150, then you might be able to find some software to run a command remotely on the other machine, and trigger this by the .exe channel changer, but I dont know what that software might be.

No matter where the exe file is, it will run on the machine you are using at the time. What you need is a remote command. I've not tried it, but something like PSEXEC from winternals may do it??

p.s. I use vnc to log into the remote system, but the remote system is three floors away from the TV and STB, so it goes up three floors via ethernet and back down three floors via coax and the remote extender!.

PStools has a remote execution ...

once you get them from sysinternals ... just run a command like

psexec \\remotemachine "C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe" <command params>
