Has anyone had issues getting Winlirc to work with the Hauppauge remote? I'm trying to use Winlirc so that I can program a more flexible client to control my amplifier and other components.

Many thanks.

I never got it to work, but I don't know if that's because I used a bad transmitter, a weird signal to start with, or bad knowledge. Other people on here have gotten it to work perfect.

You can also look into using HIP, which many people seem to like.

I just built a second WinLirc IR receiver to give to someone [my first one is not used in my gbpvr box]. I tested its learning capabilities with a couple of my remotes and it works fine except with my hauppauge pvr-150 45 button remote. Not an issue for the person I'm giving it to but the hauppauge remote does seem harder to learn than most others. My harmon kardon multifunction remote also has difficulties with the hauppauge remote. I only tried with the default error %, and the default signal and gap lengths however.

That is how i use it for my harmony but my harmony simulates a hauppage remote. I made a custom ir receiver where data is sent via serial but power comes from the power supply since the serial header (internal) couldnt put out enough power.
