Cannot get ffdshow and subtitles to work.

I have ffdshow installed, aswell as mediplayer 9 and media classic.
I'm enabeling subtitles in ffdshow and the .idx and .sub files are named accordingly to the .avi file. All three files are located in the same directory.

Still no subtitles shows up via ffdshow.
If I play the file in media player classic it's built in subtitle support kicks in, not ffdshows.

Some help would be convenient now when I got surround sound and everything up and running.

Oops....

Just realized that my ffdshow release was from. 2002... Rather funny that I used an episode from the tv-show ROME when testing out my system. They where almost year-mates. :-)
