I added a new disk drive and changed the recordings directory but now nothing shows up in the list. I updated the recordings-dump.xml to point to my new drive. What am I missing?

Many thanks

Changing the recordings directory will only affect new recordings.

If GB-PVR finds the files are not present in their original location when it loads the list of recordings, then it assumes the user has manually deleted these recordings outside of GB-PVR.

Did you click the 'import recordings' button and select this file?

Instead of doing this I did the following:
* copied the full File structure from the recordings directory to my new drive
* renamed the old recordings directory (added _old to the folder name, it was Video and renamed it to Video_old).
* Created a new directory named Video
* Mounted the new disk as the folder Video

Voila, now I did not have to change a thing in GBPVR.

When I saw that everything was OK I deleted the Video_old directory.

Does this mean that GBPVR keeps track of everything that it puts into the recording directory? Will it recognize anything that was put into the directory by a different means, like just copying in a video from a disc?

Thanks

Yes, it keeps a list of recordings it has made.

If you manually put a video in the recordings directory, it wont show up in the Recordings screen. You can of course play any video files via the Video Library though.
