Is it possible that there could be compatibility issues between my MCE remote and my STB. I was told in a different forum that it could be that but i dont see how that could be.

The guy here: http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28860
has just about the same issue that I do regarding his STB not changing channels. He can get the remote to change the software he's using (Beyond TV) but not the STB. Im exactly the same except i use gbpvr.

I have a MOXI DVR that i can try to hook up. I just want to know if it's remotely possible that some STBs wont work using MCE

Yeah, absolutely possible. There are some boxes that use IR signals that the MCE unit would not be understand or replicate.

I had an old Jerrold cable box that had exactly this problem. In my case I was lucky enough to have the electronic know-how to solve the problem, by making a custom box to replicate the IR signals of original STB.

Thanks, Sub. I'll look into your method. I'm 90% certain that i have everything set up correctly. It probably is a compatibility issue. I'll visit my Cable co and try to get a different box or i'll just test out my MOXI DVR from them.

The box im currently using (the one that's giving me issues) is the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250 HD. If anyone has had success in making this thing change channels via MCE remote while using HIP, plz step forward.

thanks

I can now breathe
