Ok what do I do if a 1 hour recording shows that it is over 15 hours, when the OSD shows the timeline the total recording length advances by 10-15 seconds instead of 1 second.
some details XP pro x64 rez 1440x900 60 ATI x1600 pro 512mb AMD x64 4600 1gb ddr2 Vbox Cats Eye 150 Config settings vid decoder= system default(theatertek) Audio both=default Renderer VMR9 Only other issue is that it wont timeshift unless I set a show to record. HD is pretty solid, no stutter even on scrolling text. Please help

Given the device you're using is a digital device, your issue will be something else. What mux are you using for recording?

I was using Microsoft DVR MS(I think that what its called), switched to ATI MPEG thing and TIMELINE on recordings is advancing in seconds now. Thanks. Any ideas on why it wont timeshift unless I set it to record, when I hit pause it goes blank and says starting timeshift when picture comes back it is a frozen and OSD has no control buttons. I am glad I found this board.

So I've not recorded many hundreds of shows (probably 50 since switching to Vista)... I recorded House tonight, about 1:10 long (added a lot of post-padding because of Fox's crazy scheduling).
When I go to watch it, it says the recording is 31:18 long. There are 3 comskip areas (3 dark areas on the bar), which don't sync with commercials because the episode moves at the wrong speed... It DOES have the entire episode... Skipping, Pausing, Rewinding, etc... is all a crap-shoot... It just jumps all over the place... Do I need to try this other driver, and reg edits? This is the ONLY time I've had this problem, but man it's frustrating Any help would be appreciated...

Some people have used their systems for months without problems, before it starts affecting them. I'd try those drivers or newer, plus the registry settings, plus a reboot.

Like Sub said sounds like the pvr150 timestamp issue. Assuming that's your capture card you might want to check this entry out on the wiki.

I do indeed have a PVR150... I'm going to give this a try now, and hopefully it fixes it
In the wiki I was also happy to learn that I can fix the recording that was timed wrong, because it's always sad to lose stuff Thank you guys for all your help!!!

It worked, for the most part...
It re-encoded the video, and it works perfectly on my computer... However, on my MVP it appears as a 1 second file... I remember seeing something about this on the forum somewhere... But I'm not finding it with a quick search... Any suggestions? I tried rebooting the MVP (unplugging it for a little), didn't fix it.... Thanks Guys!
