A small leap for the video library, a huge step for man kind

I haven't found any good plugin for my movies. So I'm using the standard Video Library that comes with the product. It works good.

It could be even better if it could show some texts along a movie. Today I store all movies in separate folders and I use folder.jpg as a thumbnail. That's great. If I could add another file, let's call it folder.html or description.txt with some text to show along with the thumbnail everything would be awsome.

I the best of world this text would allow some markup, for example:

<h2>
<h3>
<p>
<ul><il>


Is this at all doable? Can anyone do this? Is the code for the original Video Library available for customization?

sub will say this too, but no, its not. GB-PVR is closed source.

have you tried video archiver? I am not sure if that does movies, but I know it does a great job with video. how about the "movies" plugin?

The video archiver does movies too. It pulls information from imdb.com or amazon.com (description, title, runtime, poster image, etc.) and displays that as part of the movie description. No need to manually enter data. It will also display a separate image for the folder if a folder.png, gif, or jpg exists. it can span drives too.

I have tried the video archiver. It never works for me. No movies shows ever up, but all my downloaded movies (in divX format) are treated like recordings. It's very rare that the IMDB finds the correct title of the movie and sometime it even find the wrong movie, making everyone a bit frustrated when the thumbnail and movie has nothing in common.

But my post wasn't about my thoughts on the video archive but if it was possible to do a little easier/lighter thing with the video library, for example extending it to not only support images but also a text. (Btw, I love music library2)
