Hi...

I found this device in a bargain bin at Frye's and it appears to work quite well, but I am disappointed in the software they deliver with it - ArcSoft TotalMedia.
(Annoyingly, ArcSoft refuses to allow me to register because there is no serial number that I can detect... Sigh).

I can find references to the pci-sister of this thing, the PVR550 but very few on this one. It appears to use the Conexant chip set. I can see from the drivers registered that it does use some drivers apparently written by Conexant.

I'm willing to experiment but need a bit of direction in figuring what devices I might try that might be similar. I'd be willing to do some testing on this device if it would help. I'd also be willing to do some testing under Linux if one knows of any software in that arena that supports this.

Thanks,

Rick

I'm fairly sure I remember a few other users saying they're using this device with GB-PVR. When you try to create a capture source, and tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox, does it list your device?

You are absolutely correct. Thing works without a hitch.

Now I have to decide whether gbpvr is the thing for me.
