I need an inexpensive card that'll work with server 2003 and gbpvr.

I'm only caputing via antenna. No cable or digital.

TIA

My recommendation: Hauppauge PVR150MCE - you can find them for around $50 online. This card has a hardware encoder, which will save you lots of headaches compared to a cheaper software card. However, for this price you usually are getting an OEM white box version that doesn't have an IRBlaster or remote.

Remote not required. Server is being setup as a recording device only. It'll be streamed to the living room TV via xbox media center.

Yeh, I have XBM set up. The main issue that I've found with it is that when playing back divx or mpg4 files, it's a little "slow" on the screen, kinda just a moment of lag every now and then. It works great for mpeg 2 filesSmile .

I use my box for recording only (in fact, I don't even have a monitor hooked up to it), I have 2 MVPs, XBM, and of course my computer. Big Grin

I agree, works on my 2003 server, the only thing.......if you have a VIA chipset mobo, make sure the via4in1 drivers are installed before loading the PVR150 drivers or you probably gonna get some error messages during install.

Ditto here, except I use the retail version of the PVR150. Works great on Server 2003. Like someone else mentioned earlier, if you use a VIA chipset MB, install the chipset drivers first. I also use mine for recording only....sits in the basement unless I'm doing upgrades. Smile

Although I am a big fan of the HDHomeRun, it would not work for what bman wants (quote: "No cable or digital"). Those are all the HDHomeRun can do.
