This may be old news, but Circuit City is selling HVR1600 for $59 with rebates this week. Excellent deal considering you are getting a dual tuner.

That replaces PVR-150s with SD/HDTV dual tuners and MPEG2 Hardware Encoding.. My problem is that my CATV won't transmit HDTV down the coax for free without their box

The cable company is required to transmit local HD channels unencrypted but that wouldn't help with this tuner anyway. Cable HD channels are transmitted in QAM format, where OTA is ATSC. I haven't read that this card supports QAM.
