Torque Wrote:235301, where are you located? I have a passive cooled (zalman) 6600 agp from my previous build that I'm not using anymore I will sell you, if you're in the lower 48.

Wisconsin...I would be willing to pay the going rate for a used card. We can work something out that is mutually acceptable.

Let me know how to contact you.

Thanks!

-Can do HD
-<$100

Thanks!
Good question and I'm still looking for confirmation on the answer. I read (not sure where, could be here...) that for HD, the Nvidia cards that support it include 7900GT and up. In fact, the best price/HD capable cards are the 7950 series. Look at Nvidia's website as they have a .pdf page which lists the HD cards. I'm not sure why many people continue to list the 7300GS or even the 7600 but perhaps, some 7600GTs work but involve a lot of CPU utilization.

I'm looking at getting a video card eventually (for a new machine) so I'm looking at 7600GT, 7900GT/7950 and ATI options. If the 1650 works, that might be the best price but I'm not sure how much of the cpu is utilized as I would prefer an option that doesn't need the cpu as much.
