My goal is to run movies from GBPVR on an MVP on a 4x3 TV with correct aspect.
Zprocess = 1.0.1001
GBPVR = 99.12
I was able to configure ZProcess and process movie x. (Bitrate=4000, 640x480,mencoder,NTSC,4x3).

Can't seem to run any others.

Couple of questions.
Do i need to 'pre-process every movie? I thought they process on the fly, therefore I don't need to really do anything except run the movie from MVP.
Other movies call up an instance of Hunter and ZProcess, which then kills itself.

I believe I am missing something simple.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean movie x... Do you mean one movie will transcode manually but others won't

Do you mean others won't transcode or won't play? Manually or on the fly...?

You should not have to preprocess any AVIs and many other file types

Are we talking about AVI files here? So some files Transcode, and some don't? If you are trying to view an AVI file with the MVP, and ZProcess starts (along with Hunter) that's a great start.

I'd like you to zip and attach my log files. Instructions are in the sticky at the top of this sub-forum...

Thanks for the response.

Let's say I have 2 movies.
I first have to open ZProcess,
select the movie in the File Tab,
State an input and output for it,
Save, and then exit.

When I execute in MVP, Hunter opens, ZProcess opens, and the movie plays, running the output file to my desired location (growing on the fly).

After the movie stops or pauses, the temp output files is deleted appropriately. (I still haven't got to pausing, although that's next)

If I select movie 2, and don't follow the preconfig steps above, the Hunter opens, ZProcess opens, but the movie dosen't start and the screen defaults back to the file list.

So my question is, do I need to preconfigure Input file, and Output for each file? Assume all three movies are in the same dir.

Thanks again. Great stuff.

Disregard. I think I figured it out. All movies are processing. Smile

My concern still lies in where do I set 'globally' my output file?
When I recall Zprocess, it doesn't seem to retain my config settings?

I'm obviously missing something. I would like to save the trans2mvp settings, save my output directory, and have that active everytime the Zprocess executes.

thanks

Here's what you do.
  • Start ZProcess. Load a movie, click the Transcode tab.

  • Make sure that 'Trans2MVP' profile is selected. On the left side, for Target, select Trans2MVP

  • If you are in PAL land you will need to change your dimensions and framerate.

  • I believe for either NTSC or PAL, 640x480 works though in PAL land, you may be better off with 640x576.

  • NTSC is 29.97 and PAL is 25 FPS Framerate....

  • You may choose your Preferred Transcoder, though to start I would leave it at FFmpeg.exe.

  • Click Save at the top. Close ZProcess....

All of your movies should now transcode on the fly correctly...

This is working well now. All movies are auto-transcoding on the fly with MVP, however as I test through my files, I found 1 file that will only play in stretched full screen on a 4x3. The file is a 720 x 400 dimension, and it will not play correctly. Do I need to change the dimensions on this particular file?

Thanks in advance.

You know having all files transcode except one is pretty good. 720x400 is a very strange dimension, and although ZProcess should get it right, I suspect the real reason it can't do it is because when it queries the file to find the dimensions, it's not getting good data.

I would zip and attach the logs trying that file. Or I would give up on that file.
