My setup: Airlink MIMO router from Fry's:$25.99, configured it as a WAP attached to my existing wired LAN downstairs. wMVP upstairs from JR's $130 after tax/shipping (probably cheaper now or ebay one) so for $156 my wMVP works like a champ. You can probably beat that if you don't have to have one right away like I did. Btw, I know the Airlink is considered junk by many but so far the router, pcmci access card and a USB ethernet adapter from them have all worked great for me. (keeping my fingers crossed)Smile

I was looking into useing a wireless bridge and a wired MVP as a cheaper option to the wireless MVP The idea I came up with was to use an apple airport as the wireless bridge and use the ethernet on that to connect a wired MPV. I could then play music from my laptop through the apple airtunes while the TV was off as I find the GB PVR music players hard to used compared to their PC equivalents.

However there doesn't seem to be any Wired MVP available here anymore!

Good luck with the wired MVP - there was another thread where we were discussing the lack of wired MVPs lately - it's also driven up the cost of used ones...
