Can I prevent DVD drive from opening automatically?

Is there a way to prevent the DVD drive from opening? If I select DVD and there is not a disc loaded, the drive tray opens and hits the inside of the glass door on my entertainment center.

The pop-up box is easy to dismiss, but I have to walk across the room to close the DVD tray.

There are some freeware programs that sound like they might do what you want by locking the door but I don't use them so I don't know. Search for cd door guard on google.

If you set <DVDPath>auto</DVDPath> in config.xml, instead of explicitly identifying your DVD drive, then it also wont eject in this situation.
