Ok, I'll look into it for the next release.

I have resolved this problem and am now able to get resume to work from the client computer. I am currently using v1.1.5, but this should work with previous versions as well. Here's what I did:

On the server, I manually edited the config.xml file and changed the following two lines from:

<RecordingsDirectory>C:\My Videos\recordings</RecordingsDirectory>
<LiveTVDirectory>C:\My Videos</LiveTVDirectory>

I changed them to:

<RecordingsDirectory>\\pvr1\video\recordings</RecordingsDirectory>
<LiveTVDirectory>\\pvr1\video</LiveTVDirectory>

Now restart the recording service and voila!!! When you launch a video from the client (or server) and stop part way through, it will give you the resume button the next time you try to launch it.

Note: In my example above "pvr1" is the computer name of the server and "video" is the name of a share pointing to the LiveTV video folder (under which recordings is a subdirectory). So you can see that I am simply telling GBPVR to reference itself using a UNC name rather than local directories. The Config program doesn't allow you to do this, which is why you have to manually edit the config.xml file.

I found that existing recordings that were already stored in the database were no longer accessible, they showed up in the recordings screen, but wouldn't play. To fix this, I used a SQLite DB browser to manually update all records in the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table. Any record in this table that has a valid filename in the filename field, I simply changed it from "c:\my videos\recordings\*.*" to "\\pvr1\video\recordings\*.*" You don't have to do this for any recordings that are recorded after making the configuration changes.

I hope this makes sense to everyone that wants to use this feature. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sub, you continue to amaze me with each new version you come out with. I know you said the resume feature was something on your low priority to-do list, but now you don't have to worry about it. Alternatively, in the config program you could add the ability to type in directory names as well as browsing. Thanks for your great support!

i can select my server folder for the recordings directory and live tv from the config utility
i dont know why you couldnt
the only reason i can think of is you havent shared your folders properly ove your network so you have direct acces from your client machine

The point is to set the configuration for your server folder on the server (not the client) as a UNC path (e.g. \\pvr1\video\recordings) in order to get the resume feature to work from the client. I don't have a problem browsing to my server folder in the config app from the client or the server, but in order to enter it as a UNC path, you need to manually edit the config.xml file.

I hope that makes sense.
