Easy way to toggle Client/Server without using Config?

The title says it all really. Is there a simple, command line option or any other way to do this without going into the Config app?

The reason I'm asking is that my wife has a netbook that she takes away with her when she goes way on business. I often copy a load of programs to it so she can watch them while away. As she likes the GBPVR interface I've configued it as a server but without any TV cards.

When she is at home she connects the netbook to the TV in the bedroom and uses it as a client to the main TV server in the house.

I used to have two desktop icons to do this. They were batch files and just copied a suitable config file over before running the main app.
