gEd Wrote:this is because gbpvr cannot find the recordings and so deleted them from the database. You can disable this behaviour in the config.xml (can;t remember what the variable is) but the real issue is why gbpvr can;t find the recordings. Are they on a network or removable drive?

That makes sense, but I can not think of anything that should have changed the accessibility of these files. These shows were recorded by GBPVR to a fixed hard drive, then they dissappeared. I used mpeg Import to bring them back in and they were there for a while (probably until the next recording but I wasn't paying that close of attention) and then they dissapeared again. The files have not moved nor has the drive been dissconnected. Any idea why GBPVR would be losing track of these?

I'm still working on isolating things in the postprocessing.bat. Hopefully that will turn something up.

It'll be because one of the things in your PostProcessing.bat (or some other batch process) is causing the file to be renamed. GB-PVR checks for the original name, doesnt find it, assumes you've deleted it, then purges the record from the database.

but if he used mpegimport to bring the missing shows back into the database again, these files wouldn;t be touched by postprocessing.bat would they?

dshoup: I think you should do both things:

In your config.xml, change <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> to false and see what happens.

If you are still loosing recordings, comment all the stuff out of postprocessing.bat (or just rename the file for now) and see what effect that has.

If you are still having problems, it might be time to remove all the add-on plugins (dlls) from the plugins folder and see what effect that has.

I dont know anything about mpegimport or what it does exactly, so I cant comment on that aspect.

Well after much experimentation, I have determined that it is the addepisode command in the postprocess.bat file that is my problem (a madening process when the problem does not occur 100% of the time). This sounds consistent with whatSub and gEd have suggested. I'm still not sure how I lost all the shows I imported last weekend as addepisode should not have messed with them, but it appears an isolated incident so I'm going to just ignore it for now. I'm headed off to the addepisode forum to seek help there. Thanks to everyone for your help tracking this down!
