Hi,

I use GB-PVR to schedule my recurring recordings, for example on the Sci-Fi channel, Stargate, I programed it for recurring weekly this time slot and channel, and the time for it was grabbed from looking at the program guide. It starts at 8PM ends at 9PM.

The problem is that in the recurring list, it shows up with a time window of 6PM through 10PM. This means that when Sci-Fi show's older episodes at a different time like they are now, at 6PM a re-run of an older episode is showing, so now GB-PVR is recording that in addtion to the one it will record later.

The biggest problem here is that sometimes, I have other recordings scheduled for example Numbers at 10 PM, well GB-PVR will say I have a conflict because it also sees a stargate or stagate atlantis episode at the same time.

Is there a way for me to set GB-PVR to only recording for the actual time slot the program is on?

Thanks,

Steve

I believe there is a option when selecting reoccuring that has "record all episodes in this timeslot"
---------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Pentium D 805 2.66ghz Dual Core
2GB Ram
Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT 256mb PCI-E (x2sli)
Audigy ZS 2 Platinum Sound card
ATI Theater 550 PRO w/Remote
3 320gig Harddrives(and 400+external on other 2 pc's which are setup)

Thanks, but that is the option I am currently using. But that options seems to use a 4 hour window.

So my question is why is the weekly timeslot a 4 hour timeslot?

I do not know for sure what impact this has but I know in the config.xml there is this setting
Code:
<AllowableTimeslotVariance>90</AllowableTimeslotVariance>

My thinking is it would allow a recording to be of by up to 90 minutes and still record it. You may try to change this or wait and see if you get any other replies to verify my thinking.

This default '+/- 90 minutes' behaviour is designed to allow for slight variances to the schedule while still picking up the show (for example, show running an hour late one week due to special before it). You can change the setting mentioned above if you dont need this, or if you prefer a smaller timeslot.

Perfect, great, thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for.

Since I tend to make sure my recurring items are correct, I think I will shorten this quite a bit. My setting was at 120, that explains why I had a 4 hour window. Two hours on either side of the start time. No sure if I should make i zero or something like 10 minutes.

I will play around with it, and do some test entries to see how it behaves.

Thanks again, I was going nuts trying to figure this one out LOL

Did I say thanks Smile
